Employment

Raising employment rates amongst disadvantaged communities through tailored IiC funded activity will contribute to broader economic development by:

• Improving people’s view of the society in which they live and redefining their horizons – what it is possible for them to do or attempt within it;
• Breaking the cycle of disadvantage in communities where economic inactivity/under-activity amongst parents affects the aspirations, educational achievements and employment prospects of their children;
• Improving peoples’ ability to maintain themselves in employment and achieve income growth over time; and
• Investing in communities of interest and place to build social capital.
